Recommended Media

This is a list of investing related content that I found interesting or useful. While I am mainly putting this together for my own future reference I hope that someone else might find this useful.

I will try to keep this list organized but since many entries fall under multiple categories it will get messy. I will try to gradually update it as I read further or more entries come to mind. While some entries may seem obvious they might still contain useful references to lesser known works.

Any recommendations for content that would fit in this list are greatly appreciated.

Forums

Security Analysis Subreddit
While unfortunately very inactive, it is the only investing related subreddit I have found which consistently has quality content.

Value Investors Club (VIC)
While there are strict requirements for full membership, the general public can read the full message board with a delay.

Silicon Investor
Home of Michael Burry's original posts from 1999, which will be linked later.

Books

Margin of Safety by Seth Klarman
Seth Klarman's cult classic and the best introductory text on value investing. Touches on a wide range of topics in a way that is easy to understand for the uninitiated.

The Intelligent Investor by Benjamin Graham

Security Analysis by Benjamin Graham and David Dodd
Please note that the 4th edition is the last version Graham and Dodd actually wrote. While the later editions are based on the 2nd edition and are therefore missing much valuable content, they still contain great commentary chapters which draw parallels between events of Graham's time and ours, like the SPAC bubble.

Buffett's Early Investments by Brett Gardner

More Money Than God by Sebastian Mallaby

The Black Swan by Nassim Nicholas Taleb

Value Investing From Graham to Buffett and Beyond by Bruce Greenwald

Quality of Earnings by Thornton O'Glove

Trading & Exchanges by Larry Harris
A large reference book which explains the situations of all the different market participants and the effect they have on securities markets.

Research Papers

Buffett's Alpha
An investigation into how Buffett used his access to cheap leverage to create excess returns.

Testing Benjamin Graham's Net Current Asset Value Strategy in London
Uses multiple simulated portfolios to test the effectiveness of Graham's net-net strategy for LSE listed stocks from 1981 to 2005.

Content Creators

Patrick Boyle
Experienced fund manager and university lecturer. His YouTube channel includes structured courses on portfolio management as well as explanations of current events.

Aswath Damodaran
NYU Stern professor who makes all his course content publicly available. Writes great books on valuation and publishes useful papers and spreadsheets for deriving risk premiums under various circumstances. Content ranges from very basic to highly advanced.

Websites

Kinetic Energy Ventures Compilations
Archives of famous investors such as Warren Buffett, Joel Greenblatt, Seth Klarman, and more. Michael Burry's archive is my current favorite, as it contains clues to his inspiring backstory.

The Walter Schloss Archive
